Overpressure can cause a pressure transmitter to fail or impair its performance. This effect happens when excessive differential pressure is applied to the device which is greater than its measuring range. Overpressure can occur from improper manifold sequencing, startup and shutdown conditions, or a sudden process upset. Yokogawa's unique capsule design equalizes overpressure within the capsule before it can reach the measurement sensor.
